Welcome to the Breast Cancer Prevention Center located within
the University of Kansas Hospital Cancer Center and Medical Pavilion.
Our mission is to improve the accuracy of individual risk assessment
through the use of biologic markers and provide women at increased
risk with a variety of surveillance and prevention options.
Carol J. Fabian, MD, established the Breast Cancer Prevention
Center in 1990 to promote the physical and emotional well-being
of high risk women. She leads a highly experienced team that
includes basic scientists, nurses, cancer and genetic risk counselors,
research coordinators and laboratory technicians. Together
with the collaboration of top investigators from universities
such as Baylor, John Hopkins, Duke, Yale and Northwestern, Dr.
Fabian has become an internationally recognized leader in risk
assessment and early breast cancer prevention trials.
The center is a unique resource for women across the country
due to the program’s ability to promote a continuum of
cancer care, prevention and survivorship.
We look forward to seeing you.
